11-year-old boy attacked by pit bulls opposite Chiang Mai restaurant

Update: the attack is believed to have occurred in Pa Tan. Chang Phuaek Police are investigating.

An 11-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was attacked by two pit bulls in Chiang Mai yesterday evening, June 16.

The exact location was not disclosed other than it occurred outside of a restaurant somewhere in Chiang Mai

According to Sanook, the boy, the son of a Myanmar worker, was playing with other children outside of worker’s accommodation when the two pit bulls, being kept by the owner of a restaurant opposite the accommodation, attacked.

The child was rushed to hospital where he received over 10 stitches around his mouth, on his cheek and both arms where the dogs had bitten.

The owner of the dogs offered to pay for medical expenses, saying that he had only had the dogs for a week. Locals were not impressed, however, fearing that the pit bulls may attack again.
