A Royal Thai Navy boat uncovered a significant stash of yaba tablets left alongside the Mekong River in Chiang Rai yesterday, March 5.
The stash, involving 19 packages with 198,000 yaba tablets was found in Huai Kok Village, Moo 14 Wiang, Chiang Khong District.
Officers were spotlighting the spotlighting the banks of the Mekong which divides Thailand and Laos when they spotted two pink straw sacks. Coming to shore, they then discovered the 19 packages inside the sacks.
The drugs were collected by Chiang Khong Police with further investigations underway.
