200,000 yaba tablets found hidden in pickup truck in Chiang Rai

Police found 200,000 yaba tablets hidden in the back of the pickup truck at a police checkpoint in Chiang Rai yesterday, July 17.

The Chiang Mai-registered pickup truck was pulled up at a checkpoint in San That, Yanok, Chiang Saen at 1:30 p.m.

The driver, realizing he was in trouble, successfully fled the scene while police found the yaba tablets packed behind a seat in the pickup truck.

Notably, the checkpoint had been set up to intercept drug smuggling after police had received a tip-off that drugs were being transported in the area.
