33-year-old Australian man found dead in Chang Phueak hotel

A 33-year-old Australian man was found dead yesterday, April 17 in a Chang Phueak hotel room.

The name of the hotel was not reported with the body being found at around 4 p.m.

Thai language media named the deceased man as Mr. Daniel Thomas Janse.

The was no obvious cause of death with police suspecting that the man may have died of an overdose.

The body was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy.

Thai language social media responded to the news that a dead foreigner had been found in a hotel room by mostly asking which hotel so as to avoid the deceased’s ghost.
