4.4M yaba tablets seized in latest Chiang Rai drug bust

4.4 million yaba tablets have been seized by police in Chiang Rai early this morning, Feb. 8.

The grey pickup truck was spotted approaching a check-point in Tha Ko, Mae Suai District at 12:15 a.m. but in a typical tale, the vehicle quickly turned around and fled the scene.

Police then pursued the vehicle but in an anti-climax there was no shootout for the change, those transporting the drugs deciding to abandon the vehicle by the side of the road and flee the scene.

Police are said to be attempting to find the owner of the pickup truck to discuss how the vehicle was being used to transport drugs.
