Algerian man arrested for theft, pickpocketing in Chang Klan

An Algerian man has been arrested in Chang Klan on multiple charges of theft.

The accused, Mr. Khelifa Larbi, 51 was aarrested by police at a hostel on Charoenprathet Road at the back of the Night Bazaar this morning, Jan. 28 after he was traced to the location using CCTV footage.

Mr. Larbi allegedly stolen a number of items at a Chiang Mai Tesco Lotus Express as well pickpocketing patrons the Spicy Night Club in Chang Moi.

Without giving a lot of details, Thai media reports that he specifically targeted tourists at Spicy.

He was found in possession on a number of different items including four smartphones and various toiletries.

Mr. Larbi has been detained in custody pending a court hearing.
