Chiang Mai Coffee City project gets 25M baht to promote provincial producers

Chiang Mai Department of Industrial Promotion and The Ministry of Industry are pushing forward with the Chiang Mai Coffee City project to promote coffee producers in the province.

25 million baht has been allocated this year to help promote coffee producers under the Coffee City project including the development of different varieties of coffee, ISO and HACCP certification, production optimization, loss reduction, cost reduction and value adding.

Numbers wise, MGR Online reports that there are now 19 districts in Chiang Mai with coffee plantations with a production capacity of 20,000 tons/year, with a market value of around 2,000 million baht.
