Chiang Mai student falls, dies from Bangkok tower while playing mobile game

A Chiang Mai student has fallen and died from a building in Bangkok while playing a mobile phone game.

Mr. Pattanadej Homhuan, 21, a third-year student from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna in Chang Phueak, was visiting the capital to compete in the RoV Pro League Season 3 tournament when the accident happened.

RoV – Realm of Valor (sometimes called Arena of Valor) is a multiplayer online battle arena game developed and published by Tencent Games for iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch.

Mr. Homhuan was staying in a room on the fourth floor of the Bangkok Hip Hotel in Din Daeng District when he told friends that he was having problems getting a signal on his phone and stepped out onto the balcony.

The friends later noticed that the deceased had stopped playing the game and went to check on him, finding only his phone on the balcony.

A security guard was the first person to discover the body.
