Elderly farangs rescued after getting lost in Nan cave

It’s not just junior football (soccer) teams who get lost in caves in Northern Thailand with a farang couple having to be rescued from a cave in Nan on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The low key rescue occurred in a cave located in the Tham Pha Tup Forest Park in Pha Sing, Mueang Nan District.

The couple, Mrs. Yvette Andree Frapradel, 71 and Mr. Claude Jean Frapradel, 68, both French nationals were visiting the park when they got into trouble while exploring one of the caves.

Park staff had called emergency services workers after the couple had gone missing, having last been spotted entering a cave.

It took a bit over two hours to locate the couple.

According to reports, the couple had become lost in the cave and could not find their way out.

Both were treated for minor injuries and taken to Nan Hospital for a precautionary checkup.
