A British man was found dead by staff in a Chang Klan hotel at lunchtime today, March 5.
The hotel was not named by Thai language media but is described as being located on Charoen Prathet Road.
The deceased man, who is believed to have been dead in the room for around a day before being discovered, was named as Peter Williams (transliterated from Thai), 79.
An initial investigation found no signs of fighting or wounds, suggesting at Williams may have died of disease.
As is usual in these cases, the body was sent to hospital for an autopsy and the British Embassy in Bangkok was informed of the death.
