Faulty brakes blamed for fire that destroyed truck in Lampang

A fire that destroyed a truck in Lampang last night, March 3 is being blamed on faulty brakes.

The fire occurred on Phaholyothin Road (Highway 1) at Tambon Mae Phrik, Amphoe Mae Phrik at 8:15 p.m. around 200 meters from a police checkpoint.

According to Thai language reports, the driver of the truck had pulled to the side of the road with brake problems when the fire broke out.

An investigation found that the faulty brakes had overheated, causing the truck itself to catch fire and ultimately be destroyed.

The driver managed to jump free of the truck as the fire started to take hold and was uninjured.
