Earthquake activity appears to be rising slightly again in the north with an earthquake detected in Fang this morning, Dec. 18.
The 2.2 on the Richter scale earthquake was recorded at 9 a.m. at 19.853 N 99.170 E – Mae Sun near the intersection of Highway 107 and rural road 3004.
The earthquake is second in two days with a 2.4 recorded in Chai Prakan Dec. 16.
A small swarm of earthquakes was recorded in the south of Chiang Mai Province Dec. 11 – a 2.0 and 1.6 were recorded in Bo Luang, Hot District and a 2.3 and 1.8 were recorded the same day in Mueng Ngai, Chiang Dao District.
