A 22-year-old man has been arrested following the theft of a necklace from a gold shop in Chang Phueak yesterday, May 30.
The theft occurred at the Mae Chantra Gold Shop in Siri-wattana Market on Ratchapakhinai Road in Chang Phueak and involved the theft of a necklace valued at 26,000 baht.
The accused, Mr. Krita Thianchaitat was arrested by Chang Phueak Police this morning at a guest house on Nimmanhaemin Road Soi 9 after police traced his movements using CCTV footage. The gold necklace was found hidden under a pillow in a room rented by Mr. Thianchaitat.
Mr. Thianchaitat confessed to the crime, telling police that he robbed the shop due to poor economic conditions and not having enough money to spend.
He’s been charged with robbery and detained in custody pending a court hearing.
