A 24-year-old man died after crashing his motorcycle into a tree in Nong Chom, San Sai early Sunday morning, Feb. 16.
The accident happened on Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) inbound near the Nong Chom Intersection (Highway 1001/121) at around 2 a.m.
The deceased, Mr. Chatinont Chakthorn from Na Muen, Nan has been visiting a friend in Mae Jo when another friend called to say that his vehicle had broken down and required help. Suffice it to say, Mr. Chakthorn never managed to get to his friend to provide assistance.
High speed is suspected to be the cause of the accident.
The body was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai for an autopsy prior to being released to relatives for funeral rites.
