Three Chinese men have been arrested near Pattaya for allegedly running a pornography and gambling website.

Immigration Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sompong Chingduang yesterday said the men, identified as Mr Wang, Mr Tang and Mr Xi, had been arrested on Monday at a house in tambon Nong Prue, in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri province.

The arrest was made after the immigration police received a tip-off that the men were running a pornography and gambling website. Pol Lt Gen Sompong said officers seized a computer laptop during the raid.

Police say Mr Wang told them he had been paid 6,000 yuan (26,800 baht) by his Chinese customers for each pornography and gambling website he created.

In a separate case, Sa Kaeo police have detained a 22-year-old Thai man, named only as Atikan, and charged him with illegally bringing three Cambodian people into the country.

Atikan is reported to have admitted sneaking them into the country with the intention of dropping them off in the Wang Nam Yen district of Sa Kaeo and Bangkok.

In a similar case, a Thai national, Uthit, 58, has been charged in Ubon Ratchathani with illegally bringing seven Lao migrants into the country.
