30M baht in property seized on raids targeting alleged drug boss in Chiang Mai

Police have seized over 30 million baht in property after raiding homes belonging to an alleged drug boss at various locations across the Chiang Mai metro area this morning, May 8.

The raids took place at a property at Soi 18 Chiang Mai – San Kamphaeng Road (Highway 1317) Tha Sala; a house in Moo 7 San Na Meng, San Sai and a further building in The Oriental Village off the Middle Ring Road (3029) in Don Chan just after 6 a.m. with participation from Police Provincial Region 5 police and others.

The accused man, Mr. Sotphanaran, 40, known as “Phet Yod Doi,” was wanted on an arrest arrest warrant issued Nathawi Court, Songkhla April 10 on conspiracy to traffic drugs.

Police seized the three properties, one vehicle, four motorcycles, six million baht in cash, 10 “famous” gold amulets, gold bars, two rifles and 100 bullets.

He was detained in custody pending a hearing to have him sent down south to face the music over his alleged crimes.
