An earthquake in Myanmar was felt across the border regions of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son yesterday evening, Sunday, July 1.
The 4.6 earthquake struck at 20.261°N 97.922°E at a depth of 5 kilometers near Lang Kho, Shan State at 10:10 p.m., 89 kilometers from Sop Pong in Mae Hong Son province.
According to reports, villagers across the north felt their houses shake but no damage was reported.
The earthquake follows a range of smaller earthquakes and tremors across the north including a 2.4 in Mae Wang June 26, a 2.1 at Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai June 12, a 3.6 earthquake in Chai Prakan May 31 another quake in Mae Lao June 3.
