42-year-old man seriously injured after slamming into parked truck in Doi Saket

A 42-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he slammed into a parked truck in Doi Saket yesterday, Dec. 26.

The accident occurred on Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai Road (Highway 118) near the Doi Saket checkpoint gate in Choeng Doi.

According to reports, the Chiang Rai-registered 18-wheel truck was parked at the side of the road as its driver was tying down a canvas cover when a black Nissan sedan, driven by Mr. Chuchat Udomsub from Samut Prakan slammed into the rear at high speed.

Pictures from the scene clearly show that the truck was off to the side of the road at the time of the accident.

Police believe that Mr. Udomsub may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.
