44-year-old man drowns in Lamphun river

A 44-year-old man was found drowned in a river in Lamphun yesterday, Jan. 2.

The body of the man was found in the Li River in Pa Phai, Li District at around 10:45 a.m.

The deceased, Mr. Prakit Tidhla from Ban Wang Nam Li in Pa Phai had left his home earlier in the week and had not returned. Relatives went looking for him, finding his body floating in the river yesterday.

There were no sign of injuries on the body. The body itself is believed to have been in the river for at least two days.

Although there are no witnesses to the drowning, Mr. Tidhla was suffering from a congenital disease and it’s believed he may have had a heart attack or similar while walking along the river causing him to fall in and drown.
