A body of a dead 49-year-old man was recovered from a pond in Mae Wang yesterday, May 8.
The body was discovered by passersby in the pond in Moo 3 Ban Kat around around 4:30 p.m.
The deceased man, Mr. Manop Taman from Omkoi, worked locally as a gardener and was last seen by a colleague the day before.
According to reports, Mr. Taman is said to have been a chronic alcoholic and it’s believed he may have either gone for swim to escape the heat or fallen into the water then drowned.
The body was taken to hospital for an autopsy before being handed over to relatives for funeral rites.
