A 64-year-old woman on a bicycle was killed by a drunk driver in San Sai Luang, San Sai this morning, Oct. 1.
The accident occurred on San Sai – Mae Jo Road (Highway 1367) at around 5:40 a.m.
Mrs. Bung Phueng Thina was on her way to a local market when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by Mr. Manat Pongyana, 42 from Mueang Len, San Sai.
Mr. Pongyana was breath-tested by police at the scene and blew 0.149% – 149 milligrams, well over the legal limit of 0.05% in Thailand.
Members of the San Sai Cycling club assisted at the scene.
