A 73-year-old Canadian man was found dead in his home in San Phi Suea yesterday, April 9.
Emergency services arrived at the scene at 11 a.m. and found the wife of the deceased man waiting for assistance.
The man is described as having lived with his 51-year-old Thai wife in Chiang Mai for around eight years. He had no known underlying health issues and no symptoms indicating that he may have had COVID-19. He also had no recent history of traveling outside of Thailand.
The couple had been jogging around their house earlier in the morning with the deceased man later saying that he felt faint and would go to the bathroom. He was later found by his wife collapsed on the floor and not breathing.
The cause of death is officially unknown with the body transported to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy.
