Air Force employee dies in motorcycle crash on the Superhighway, Fa Ham

A Royal Thai Air Force employee has died after coming off his motorcycle on the Superhighway in Fa Ham early this morning March 27.

The accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. near the Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) intersection opposite Thepanya Hospital.

The decease was named as Mr. Poompat Rumpirang, 22 from Ton, San Kamphaeng. It’s not clear from reports what position he held with the Air Force.

There were no witnesses to the accident although those nearby heard a motorcycle being ridden at high speed before a crashing noise.

It’s believed that Mr. Rumpirang was heading home when he has lost control of the motorcycle. He’s believed to have died on impact and was not wearing a helmet.

The body was transported to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy.
