After the relaxation of strict measures in Chiang Mai and across Thailand, various businesses have been allowed to reopen again.
The Government has urged for cooperation from all sectors to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until the vaccines are safely developed. The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, has introduced the “Thai Chana” online platform (“Thai Chana” means “Thai victory”) for tracking and assessing helpful information for the public in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
The establishments have to register on the website to acquire a QR code and put it in front of the shop. Customers can check in to the stores by scanning the QR code. The ministry has ensured that the information that is input into the platform is confidential and will not violate people’s privacy rights, as it will be used for disease control purposes only.
When visiting service places, for example, restaurants or supermarkets, the customers are requested to scan the QR code at the entrance for check-in and check-out. Moreover, there are surveys in which the customers can evaluate the cleanliness and crowding of a shop or restaurant.
What are the benefits of the Thai Chana platform to customers?
- Customers will see a list of businesses that have already resumed operation in the second phase of relaxation measures.
- The percentage of customers currently using services in the shop shows if the shop is congested or not, so customers can decide whether they want to use the service or change to another establishment.
- Customers will see the current location of each business.
- Customers will see the maximum number of customers who can be in a store at once.
