A body has been fished out of the Ping River after being discovered by locals yesterday, June 30 in Fa Ham.
The body was fished out of the river opposite Wat Kha Jao by emergency services workers at around midday.
The man is yet to have been identified but is described as Thai, between 65-70 years of age wearing a checkered long-sleeved shirt, long pants and canvas shoes.
There were no obvious signs of foul play with the body sent to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy.
Police believed that he may have fallen in the river drunk and subsequently drowned or alternatively may have committed suicide by jumping off the Outer Ring Road bridge.
