A body believed to be that of an Australian man missing since May was found July 21 in a decomposed state in Ban Mae Yen Village, Moo 1, Pai District, Mae Hong Son.
Police believe to be corpse is that of Philip Keith Watson, 63, who was reported missing by May 29 and was last seen “having a disagreement with a businessman.”
Police, who had been informed by locals who had discovered the body in a jungle area, found a bag hanging on a nearby tree containing Watson’s passport.
The body was too far decomposed to confirm the identity or the cause of the death and has been flown to Bangkok for an autopsy. Police believe it may have been a case of suicide or an accident.
