A convicted U.S. pedophile was arrested by police in Phayao last month for running a English language school for children without a work permit.
The raid and subsequent arrest, with took place on July 11 but was only publicized yesterday, Aug. 13 involved police and immigration officials visiting an address on Prasat Road in Mueang Phayao.
The accused man, named only as Mr. Eric, 66 had previously been found guilty of molesting children in the U.S. and has been sentenced to four years in prison but subsequently had the sentence suspended.
He was charged with working without a work permit, blacklisted and subsequently deported.
