Current regulations for travellers to Chiang Mai

1) Travelers from the Highest Control and Strict Areas of 5 Provinces (Chantaburi, Cholburi, Trat, Rayong, Samut Sakhon) entering Chiang Mai must comply as follows:

1.1 They must inform officials where they have come from and show letters stating that they are on important business.

1,2 They must register with “Mor Chana” application

1.3 They must follow all instructions of the Provincial COVID-19 Committee as stated in Order 1/ 2564 dated 4th January 2021

2) Travelers from the Highest Control Areas entering Chiang Mai must comply as follows:

2.1 They must inform officials where they have come from and show letters stating that they are on important business.

2,2 They must register with “Mor Chana” application

2.3 They must follow all instructions of the Provincial COVID-19 Committee as stated in Order 1/ 2564 dated 4 January 2021

3) Travelers from Control and High Surveillance Areas entering Chiang Mai must comply as follows:

3.1 They must state to officials the importance of their visit and exactly where they will be staying

3.2 They must follow all instructions of the Provincial COVID-19 Committee as stated in Order 1/ 2564 dated 4 January 2021

(Summary Order 1/ 2564 dated 4th January 2021:

  1. All travellers entering Chiang Mai Province must register with CM-CHANA application.
  2. Those travellers who have been to COVID-19 Highest Control areas as designated by national COVID-19 centre must home quarantine for 14 days and report to disease control officer for COVID-19 test and strictly follow their instructions.
  3. Travellers who have been to COVID-19 Control areas, as designated by national COVID-19 centre, must Self-Monitor their health and if they have any unusual symptoms, they must report to Disease Control Officer and seek hospital treatment.

The Governor of Chiang Mai approved a wide range of orders to control the spread of COVID-19.

Order summaries as follows:

Weekly markets and walking streets are to be closed

No movements of migrant workers will be allowed in and out of Chiang Mai Province

  1. Gatherings of less than 50 persons will be allowed of COVID-19 precautions are followed
  2. Gatherings of between 50-200 persons will need special permission from COVID-19 Committee

iii. Gatherings of more than 200 persons will not be allowed unless arranged by the government agency with special permission from COVID-19 Committee

  1. All types of betting activities including boxing, horse racing will be forbidden
  2. Close all COVID high-risk venues such as:

– Boxing, martial arts centres apart from those in educational facilities

– Places selling alcohol for consumption on the premises

– Restaurants can serve seated guests from 05:00-23:00. After 23:00 all food sales must be takeaway for consumption off the premises.

– Alcohol cannot be consumed on restaurant premises

– Live music, dancing and other forms of entertainment will be forbidden in restaurants
