Dozens of villagers fall ill after eating dodgy pork in Hod

Several dozen villagers in Bo Sali, Hod District have been treated for food poisoning after eating dodgy pork.

The cause of the illness is not known with Thai language media noting that the pork had been freshly slaughtered ruling out it having gone off.

Theories include the meat becoming contaminated between its slaughter and cooking as well as the possibility that the pigs may have been unwell prior to their slaughter with a bacterial infection.

At least some of those affected by the dodgy pork, which included men, women and children, were taken to Nong Bua Hospital while others were treated in the village itself.
