The body of a drunk 36-year-old man was found drowned in a pond in San Sai yesterday, May 3.
The body was retrieved by emergency services workers at around 4 p.m. off a lime garden in Moo 9 Nong Yaeng.
The deceased man had been drinking with friends next to the pond when he decided to go in for a swim. Sometime later his friends noticed that he had not returned from the pond and called for help.
Divers found that the man had a plant root around his leg resulting in him becoming trapped and unable to escape.
The body of the deceased was transported to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy before being released to relatives for funeral rites.
