A Singaporean man who is suspected to have been drunk has died after driving a car at high speed into a tree in Mae Jo early Saturday Morning, March 30.
The accident happened on Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) at around 3:40 a.m.
The deceased, Mr. Joshua Tan Xing, 36, died on the way on Theppanya Hospital in Fa Ham while his partner who was also in the car at the time, Thai-national Ms. Kanokwan Nakmai, 25, was described as being seriously injured.
An open bottle of whiskey was found in the vehicle with the suggestion that the driver was drunk coming from police.
According to Singapore media, Mr. Xing had moved to Chiang Mai full-time in November.
