Traffic was delayed on Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai Road (Highway 118) this morning Nov. 12 due to flooding in Doi Saket.
The flooding occurred through Tambon Pa Miang, a section of the highway that is currently undergoing extensive roadworks.
According to reports, a river in one section broke its banks, causing damage to roadworks and causing lengthy delays, while in other sections of the road, houses were also inundated.
The roadworks, currently behind schedule, are an attempt to expand an existing windy, mountain section of the highway into a modern dual carriageway.
