Flames from a forest fire have engulfed and destroyed a building in the grounds of a Wat in Doi Tao early this morning, April. 3.
The destroyed building was located in the grounds of Wat Phra Borommathat Doi Koeng with the fire starting at around 3 a.m.
According to reports, the building caught fire after flames from a nearby forest fire blew through a window of the building.
Despite valiant attempts from emergency services workers, the fire was unable to be brought under control.
There was also some minor damage to other buildings within the grounds of the Wat but they otherwise remained standing.
No one was injured with the Wat itself asking for donations to rebuild the destroyed building.
