Government Announces Measures to Help Vulnerable Groups Impacted by COVID 19

The government has announced measures to help vulnerable groups that have been impacted by the COVID 19 situation.

On Wednesday, the cabinet revealed measures to help 3 vulnerable groups and eligible citizens will receive 1000 Baht per month (May-July 2020).

The 3 groups that will receive financial aid are parents with young children, the elderly and the disabled. ID cards will be required as proof of citizenship and the scheme is expected to help 6,781,881 Thais throughout the country.

The Ministry of Labour (Social Security Office) said the payments will be divided into 2 rounds.

Round 1: Payment made in June 2020 in the amount of 2,000 Baht.

Round 2: Payment made in July 2020 in the amount of 1,000 Baht.

Payments can be received by bank transfer or paid in cash at a Department Of Local Administration.
