Mae Rim bank shut after customer with no mask pretends to cough and spit at staff

A bank branch in Mae Rim has been temporarily closed for seven days after a customer entered without a mask on March 30 and pretended to cough and spit at staff.

The customer is said to have entered the Kasikorn Bank Mae Rim without a mask in breach of the bank’s current COVID-19 entry rules.

He was subsequently asked by staff to put on a mask but instead of complying with the requested pretended to cough at staff before coughing up flem then pretending to spit at the bank staff as well.

The branch was closed yesterday, March 31 and is set to reopen once a full decontamination takes place April 7. It’s not known if the customer had coronavirus or not but the bank is taking no chances.

While the head office of the bank is reported to be aware of the incident it’s not clear from reports whether police are investigating.
