A 41-year-old man was arrested after he was caught burning land in Mae Ai yesterday, Jan. 22.
The arrest and hence fire took place in Baan Thep Mongkol, Moo 12 Mae Nan Wang at around 2 p.m.
The accused, Mr. Ati Thep from Sri Dong Yen, Chai Prakan was found by police to be burning weeds on a block of land.
He was arrested and charged with “burning or committing any actions within 500 meters from the bus route which causes smoke or anything else that may make it unsafe for traffic.”
Unlike other recent cases which have involved people being detained in custody and prosecuted, Mr. Thep was released with a 500 baht fine.
