A 38-year-old man has been arrested after he murdered his ex-wife with a shovel in Mae Ai yesterday, Feb. 9.
The murder took place in Ban Pang Ton Kong, Tambon Malika at around 4 p.m.
Police arrived at the scene to find Mrs. Kaek Insaeng, 47 from Tha Ton, Mae Ai dead with her former husband, Mr. Keng Phra Kham, originally from Chat Trakan, Phitsanoluk nearby.
Mr. Kham confessed to the murder, saying that he had broken up with the deceased at the beginning of the year after he found out she had been cheating. He claims he was visiting her to obtain a house key which she then allegedly threw at him while verbally abusing him.
Angry at being abused, Mr. Kham picked up a nearby shove and pounded his ex-wife over the head three times until she was dead.
He’s been charged with “killing others deliberately” and detained in custody pending legal proceedings.
