A 36-year-old man has died in a suspected hit and run in Lampang early yesterday, Jan. 2.
The body was found on Phahonyothin Road (Highway 1) between the 695-696 kilometer makers in Moo 1 Chompu, Mueang Lampang at around 6 a.m.
The body of the deceased man, Mr. Pornchai Ai Yao from Na Yang, Sop Prap District was found some 50 meters along the highway from his motorcycle. Reports from the scene note that his “organs were spread over the road.”
A piece of a white vehicle, believed to be a part of a grill was also found at the scene with police believing that it may belong to the vehicle involved in the hit and run.
An investigation has been launched with the body taken to Lampang Hospital for an autopsy.
