Man scares locals with dead python at Mae Sa market

A man with a dead python as caused panic after parading it through a market in Mae Sa yesterday, Aug. 8.

The man, described as a “big boy” by Thai language media, brought the snake to the Mae Sa Market in tambon Mae Sa in an attempt to warn locals about snakes eating chickens. Apparently the snake had eaten three of his chickens causing him to kill it to prevent it from eating more.

His idea didn’t go to plan, however, with some locals described as panicking, being shocked with fear and becoming afraid upon seeing the snake not realizing it was dead.

It’s not clear from reports whether any action was taken against the man for his actions, not only scaring locals but killing the snake. Pythons are a protected animal under the Animal Protection Act.
