Man seriously injured by fallen rubber tree branch in Saraphi

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was struck by a rubber tree branch that had fallen in Saraphi last night/ March 9.

The accident took place on Chiang Mai – Lamphun Road (Highway 106) with the branch falling through the roof of what appears to be a shop or small factory.

The area is famous for its rubber trees – Yang Na trees in Thai with ongoing efforts to assure their health. Apparently making sure people weren’t hit on the head by falling branches wasn’t part of the plan, however.

The injured man was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital with head injuries. Pictures of the scene show the man had lost a lot of blood before an ambulance arrived.
