Man sought for not paying 48,000 baht bill at Chiang Mai hotel

A man claiming to be a doctor is being sought after he left a hotel in Chiang Mai without settling a 48,225 baht bill.

The man, going by the name of Dr. Neukenujak (spelling may be incorrect) checked into the unnamed hotel on Sept. 21 after making a booking on Booking.com. He told staff the bill would be settled by the Department of Local Administration Ministry of the Interior upon his departure.

During his stay, which ran through to Oct. 12, the alleged doctor, friends and a number of “hired young women” racked up expenses of food and alcohol in the hotel.

The hotel itself is seeking both the doctor and somebody by the name of Mr. Lek Chayaparop (possibly the doctors real name) who had been in contact with the hotel in relation to the bill to settle it.

Chiang Mai News noted that the hotel had suffered a lot due to the loss involved with the bill not being paid. A complaint with police has been filed.
