A 25-year-old Myanmar national has been arrested following a hold up of a 7-Eleven in Mae Hia yesterday, March 10.
The man held up the 7-Eleven on the Middle Ring Road (3029), grabbing a staff member around the neck and forcing her to hand over cash – 10,000 baht to be precise.
Police used CCTV footage to trace the man back to a dormitory two kilometers from the 7-Eleven.
The man confessed, saying that he needed the money to pay debts on a loan he had taken out for his motorcycle.
He’s been remanded custody pending a court hearing.
