A Myanmar man has been arrested for murdering his seven-year-old son in Tak this morning, Feb. 20.
The murder and subsequent arrest occurred in Tambon Mae Sot, Amphoe Mae Sot at around 8 a.m.
The accused man, Mr. Moung Pu, 52, was found by locals outside of the Rat Wittaya School with his son’s body next to him. According to reports, Mr. Pu had slashed the child’s throat.
Police were quickly on the scene where they arrested him.
Family members said that Mr. Pu did love his children but had alcohol and gambling problems. The mother of the child had also had left Mr. Pu a year earlier, suggesting that the murder of the child may have been targeted at her.
