One person has died and another was seriously injured following a collision between two trucks in Lampang earlier this morning (Aug. 10.)
According to reports, one truck was attempting to do a u-turn on Highway 1 at around 2 a.m. when the other truck slammed into it.
The driver of a 16-wheel truck transporting 10 tons of vegetable oil, Mr. Chu Sungnoen, 49 from Nakhon Ratchasima died at the scene while the driver of the other truck, Mr. Boonrit Tumnipirom, 29 from Chumphon province was taken to hospital after being freed by rescue workers from the wreckage.
Police are investigating the matter with a view to charging the injured man with reckless driving.
