One dead as helmetless rider hits roadside pillar in San Pa Tong

A 42-year-old man not wearing a helmet died after he rode his motorcycle into a roadside pillar in San Pa Tong last night, Oct. 8.

The accident occurred on Haui Thong village in Moo 10 Nam Bo Laung at around 11:20 p.m.

The motorcycle rider, Mr. Chinnakorn Tipchan from Moo 1 Ban Mae, San Pa Tong died on impact from a skull fracture due to not wearing a helmet.

The circumstances of the accident are not entirely clear but evidence at the scene suggested that Mr. Tipchan had initially hit a roadside pot plant before coming to his ultimate demise with the roadside pillar. There’s some suggestion that he may have been drunk at the time of the accident but whether he was or not is subject to the autopsy results.
