One person has died after a truck carrying longans struck a mini-backhoe being used in Phrae yesterday, April 26.
The accident happened on Den Chai – Lampang Road in Ban Khatana, Moo 6 Bo Lek Long, Long District at around 2:20 p.m.
The driver of the truck, Mr. Sorawit Pakpakok, 42 from Sa Kaeo Province, told police that as he was going down hill on the road his brakes failed and he was unable to avoid hitting the backhoe.
The backhoe driver, who was not named, was decapitated in the accident with his head being found 1.5 meters from his body.
Police are said to be investigating.
