A man has died after losing control and crashing his motorcycle in San Sai yesterday, May 13.
The accident happened on Chiang Mai – Phrao Road (Highway 1001) in Nong Chom at around 9 p.m.
The deceased man was not identified but was described as being between 30-40 years of age. There also no witnesses to the accident, despite being on a major highway not that late at night.
The man was only wearing a partial helmet, not a full face helmet, which became separated from his head during the crash causing him to suffer major head injuries.
Given the impact, it’s presumed that the motorcyclist may have been traveling at speed and has either tried to avoid another vehicle or perhaps tried to avoid something on the road, causing him to lose control, crash then die.
The body was taken to hospital for an autopsy.
