One dead in crash between motorcycle, pickup truck in Lamphun

One man has died following a crash between a pickup truck and motorcycle in Lamphun early this morning, Aug. 31.

The accident happened on Lamphun-Pa Sang Road in Ton Thong just after midnight.

Details of how the accident occurred are not clear but pictures from the scene would indicate that the motorcycle has struck the left-hand rear of the pickup truck then crashed off the road down an embankment.

The motorcycle rider, who was not named but said to be 18-years-old, was not wearing a helmet and died from head injuries.

The body was taken to Lamphun Hospital for an autopsy prior to being released to relatives for funeral rites.
