One man has died and another was seriously injured when the motorcycle they were on crashed while attempting to avoid checkpoints in Phrae yesterday, April 16.
The accident occurred on Sai Ban Phai Lom Road – Moo 13 Huai O, Long District at around 10 p.m.
The decease was named as Mr. Rachanat Chetnok, 23 while the injured man was only named as Sai, 21.
According to reports, the two men were returning home after spending the day partying for Songkran when they lost control of the bike on a back road in the dark
Alcohol was found at the scene.
Police believe that they had taken the back road – not a direct route to where they were traveling to in an attempt to avoid police checkpoints set up in the area to catch drunk drivers.
