One person has died and another seriously injured after a pickup truck slammed into a power pole at high speed in Hang Dong last night, May 5.
The accident occurred on Chiang Mai – Hot Road (Highway 108) in Han Kaeo at around 9:15 p.m.
The pair, presumed to be a husband and wife were traveling towards San Pa Tong at high speed when they’ve lost control in rain, slamming into the pole.
The female was thrown from the vehicle – presumably due to not wearing a seat belt and was found dead at the scene while the male was found in the vehicle with serious injuries. He was rushed to Hang Dong Hospital.
Although rain was a contributing factor it’s believed they may have been rushing home before the start of the daily coronavirus curfew at 10 p.m.
Police are investigating.
